Networks and projects

The legal studies centre considers essential the active participation in various networks and international projects. Thanks to its momentum, the agency can maintain its current educational opportunities in the international level.

Below are networks of the judicial training at present within the centre for legal studies:

European Network of Judicial Training (REFJ) or European Judicial Training Network (EJTN)

Based in brussels, the REFJ/EJTN brings together all the institutions of education of judges and prosecutors of the European Union (as well as those of many non-member states involved with observer status). By spain are members of the Judicial Training College (Consejo General del Poder Judicial) and the centre for legal studies (Ministry of justice).

This Network, coordinated by the european commission, aims to:

  • Ensure the quality of the european judicial work through the highest standards of training and curriculum vitae of the high level.
  • Promote the exchange of information and best practices between the judicial training institutions.
  • Contribute to achieving the objectives defined at european level for judicial training in order to foster mutual trust between the judicial authorities.
  • Promote the development of knowledge of the different judicial systems, of the european community instruments, of community law and the european institutions, as well as the languages of the Union.

Within the REFJ/EJTN, legal studies centre is part of the steering committee (Steering Committe) as well as the working groups, exchange Programmes, methodologies, linguistic and criminal matters (the latter group the JRC serves as focal point).

Network of Judicial Training Euroárabe (REAFJ)

The REAFJ aims to establish a network to exchange training activities and in the knowledge that, since its creation in 2011, integrated schools and training of judges and prosecutors of various countries of the european union (france, italy, netherlands, belgium and romania) and the arab world (morocco, algeria, jordan, United Arab Emirates). Has a Secretariat-General in jordan and with a governing council of which Spain through the school Of Judicial and Legal studies centre.

This network to promote international legal cooperation among states of the european union and the other side of the mediterranean and arab world in general through the growing knowledge of different cultures and legal systems and promoting exchanges of experience and reforms to improve the judicial training and strengthen the Rule of law.


Training network Ibero-American Public Ministries (RECAMPI)

Is a community liaison committee for cooperation, coordination and mutual support between schools and public training of Public Prosecutor's Office in latin america (including Spain and Portugal).

Aims to contribute to the exchange of information on programmes, methodologies and training systems, to facilitate the coordination of activities among its members and plan joint training activities. It supported in a flexible organizational structure and is respectful of autonomy of each of its members.


European law academy (Europäischen Rechtsakademie, WAS)

Public foundation non-profit organization that aims at providing training in community law to the various legal professionals.

The JRC is part of the board of the government of the ERA, where they establish the guidelines for the activities of the academy, appoints the members of the board of trustees, to the executive committee members and to the governing council, approving the budget and annual accounts of the governing council.
